The Ancient & Modern “Elite”, But Love?

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Cor. 12:8-9)

So Paul realized that he was spiritually attacked and started losing sight of God’s purpose for him through satan’s deceptions of feeling puffed up “Preeminence” because of his ministry, in the same way the “Elite” Pharisees and Sadducees lived, and satan convinced them to only focus on the knowledge of the Old Testament and perform outwards ceremonies, uphold an elite self-image and strictly enforcing the laws of Moses. To overcome this attack; Paul sought the Father Jesus’ ways of growing and maturing to be complete in more inward ways through deep and constant relationship -with God the Father- proved that he is a faithful follower.

You see after God opened Paul’s heart to know the difference -between being worldly strongly rooted in vs being heavenly strongly led- Paul had to face his boosting, pride and fought satan back; then made a point to warn the Church in Corinth and all of us regards the danger of self boasting about our knowledge of the Word without living it through thick and thin and actively pursuing His eternity.

Yes, we all face strong spiritual times and face weak and dry spiritual ones as well (full of doubts) Therefore, we must be ready to reload, daily equipped to fight the good fight and aim to Finish the race..always be alert for the schemes and deceptions and lies of the common enemy and stay focused on the “Big Prize” the heavenly one, none of us is immuned from facing these spiritual warfares schemes and attacks, let’s continually wear and use His Full Armor as the Father commands..

Paul last words to Timothy “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course (race), I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7

But “True Faith” is revealed when it is seen in action. Before ascending  Jesus announced that He gave one very simple and profound commandment “Love one another.” But we crave it, we believe that love is one of the main requirement of Jesus’ true followers.

Jesus explained, in John 13:34-36

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” 36 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.

Jesus kept it simple. He taught and demonstrated that love is an action Not just in words and body language. As John explains, “Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18).

Is salvation by faith alone, or by faith plus good works?

This is maybe the most important question in all of Christian theology.
This question is the cause of the Reformation, the split between the Protestant Churches and Catholic Church.

Am I saved just by believing in Jesus, or do I have to believe in Jesus and do certain things?

– Paul says that justification is by (faith alone) (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast”. While

– James is saying that justification is by (faith plus works) ( James 2:14-26)

“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

However, if the topic here is being fruitful according to the Father’s ways and Word, it must be in constant form and continues actions of good acts of works, empowered by Faith and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The Father is the true vine and we are created in His imagine, since our creation He has been calling us to “be fruitful and multiply.” Be His light and be the Salt to every tribe, every tongue, every race and every nation and in every corner in this broken and corrupt world.

How can we be the light if we don’t maintain it and how can we be fruitful without preparing, sowing, reaping and sharing..
Blessed Thanksgiving!
